State of the City, Canterbury-Bankstown
Exploring the vision for 2036

State of the City will bring together members of Western Sydney Business Chamber, local business leaders and community organisations to explore the future of Canterbury-Bankstown, and its critical importance to the overall prosperity of the Sydney metropolitan area.

Currently mapping a vision towards 2036, the City has several projects in the pipeline that will drive productivity and employment on a transformational scale: the redevelopment of Bankstown-Lidcombe Hospital, a new Western Sydney University campus and the redevelopment of Bankstown Central – all underpinned by the NSW Government's Sydney Metro South West.

These projects, coupled with Canterbury-Bankstown’s unique cultural resources and emerging creative industry, will not only bring amenity and opportunity, they will attract a brand new knowledge economy to the city as an ideal destination to live.

And how will Canterbury-Bankstown live, work and play? Drawing upon one of the richest multicultural tapestries in the world, the City is already a melting pot of innovation and ambition. Inspirational young leaders are already seizing the initiative, and stand prepared to drive the cultural and community opportunities that Canterbury-Bankstown has to offer.

Delegates will hear a State of the City address from Mayor Khal Asfour, followed by a Q&A with WSBC Executive Director David Borger. Leaders of the transformational projects reshaping Canterbury-Bankstown will join us for a panel discussion – not just for a current state of affairs, but to also share their visions for the future of the city.

We’ll also hear from three young entrepreneurs of Canterbury-Bankstown and their vision for the future as the next generation of business, media and community leaders.
