Professor Gareth Goodier is the Executive Chair of the Melbourne Biomedical Precinct in Victoria. Appointed by the Victorian Premier and reporting to the Secretary of the Department of Premier and Cabinet, Prof Goodier leads a team of advisors and project managers to deliver against the Precinct's goals of improved economic growth, job creation and value for Victoria. He chairs the Precinct Leadership Group made up of CEOs of the major health, education and research organisations in the Precinct.

The Melbourne Biomedical Precinct is Australia’s and one of the world’s, leading biomedical precincts. The Precinct is made up of 30 hospitals, research, teaching and biotechnology organisations largely collocated to the north of Melbourne’s CBD in the area extending from East Melbourne, Carlton and North Melbourne to Parkville in the north.

With a growing focus on the economic and employment benefits of health, education, research and innovation precincts by the NSW Government and the Greater Sydney Commission, this is a timely opportunity to engage Prof Goodier about the factors driving the success of the Melbourne Biomedical Precinct. Key areas of interest include the value of a strong governance model and what lessons should be applied to innovation precincts in Sydney.

Please join us for an insightful presentation from Prof Goodier before an in-depth panel discussion with Prof Goodier and the Greater Sydney Commission. There will be plenty of opportunities for questions and answers about the future of innovation precincts and how we can drive them forward in Sydney.

The Chamber would like to thank its supporting sponsor in this event, Greater Sydney Commission.
