Registrar General, Office of the Registrar General

In April 2017, as part of its asset recycling policy the NSW Government announced the 35 year lease of the NSW Land and Property Information's titling and registry services. The lunch will focus on how the new system will operate and in particular the role of the regulator of this new type of concession.

Jeremy Cox is the NSW Registrar General and Executive Director in the NSW Department of Finance, Services and Innovation. The Office of the Registrar General oversees the performance, integrity and security of the NSW’s land title system. It is responsible for maintaining the policy and legislative framework for property rights in NSW. It is also delivering the Government’s eConveyancing reform, which is transforming a paper system to a new more efficient and secure digital format.

Jeremy held previous executive roles in Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet and State Governments’ Premiers' and Treasury departments, with an economic policy focus. Immediately prior to joining the Office of the Registrar General, Jeremy co-authored the 2016 Australian Infrastructure Plan. Jeremy has a keen interest in the role of land regulation in economic development and has had several papers published on this subject.
