POP! Conference 2019
Sydney Olympic Park is Australia’s most successful example of urban renewal and regeneration - having been remediated from a heavily polluted industrial area into the site of the world’s best Olympic Games in 2000. It has been an exemplar for Olympic Games planning since.
In the years following, it has become the major events precinct for Sydney and NSW, a growing commercial and residential location and a highly regarded destination for recreation and leisure activities.
Sadly, despite countless plans and announcements, the precinct is yet to live up to its enormous potential.
The Western Sydney Business Chamber and Sydney Olympic Park Business Association have come together to produce a paper and a series of recommendations, which will be launched at our 2019 POP! (Parramatta and Olympic Park) Conference at NSW Parliament House.
The paper will address five key areas that highlight the importance of Government commitments to Sydney Olympic Park and the Olympic Peninsular as a world class precinct for health and education, sport and entertainment, a destination for new housing and employment and an opportunity for new businesses and investment.
The full agenda will be released soon with the Government and Opposition invited to speak.
